 Mar del Plata is one of South America’s most cosmopolitan beach resort areas, with great beaches and lively nightlife. The city’s main attractions include the Colon Square, the Torreon del Monje, Los Troncos old quarter and the harbor. Mar del Plata also has a Sea Museum, an Art Museum and a Crafts Fair. The long sandy beaches have attractive dunes and ravines where you can enjoy the sun away from the crowds, but socializing on the beach is the local way of life. For a change of scene there is a large water park and sailing as well as scuba diving can be arranged. The ‘Golf Cathedral’ with its ocean front golf course and the impressive clubhouse, provides a unique setting for a challenging round or just to visit. In the evening you can join in the fun at the numerous bars, restaurants, discotheques and casino. |
