This expedition into the Amazon will get you closer to nature with comfort and safety. The largest rain forest in the world, the Amazon shelters one third of earth's living species and is the source of one quarter of the world's water supply. Manaus with its beautiful neoclassic Opera House, built with marble from Italy, stone from England and unique woods from the Amazon, was the center of the rubber boom in the 19th century..Known as the 'Marvelous City' Rio is nestled between the sea and striking mountains, with Corcovado and Sugar Loaf as the greatest landmarks. The natives known as 'Cariocas', are friendly and fun loving people, and there is great nightlife to enjoy. |

Day 1 - USA / Manaus
Overnight flight to Manaus. |

Day 6 - Amazon / Rio de Janeiro
Morning departure to Manaus. After a visit to the Opera House, then continue to the airport, for your afternoon flight to Rio. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Evening free. (B) |

Day 2 - Manaus
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel in Manaus. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the hotel's facilities. An optional city tour of Manaus is available. (B) |

Day 7 - Rio de Janeiro
Morning tour of Corcovado Mountain, with its landmark statue of 'Christ the Redeemer', for a breathtaking view of the city. Continue through the park to the Tijuca Forest. Afternoon optional complimentary visit to a Gem factory. In the evening optional Brazilian BBQ ('Rodizio') dinner and Samba show is recommended. (B) |

Day 3 - Manaus / Amazon Jungle
Morning free. you can go on an optional cruise to the 'Meeting of the Waters', where the dark Rio Negro merges with the muddy waters of the Rio Solimoes to form the Amazon River. Afternoon departure by boat to your lodge in the jungle. (B,D) |

Day 8 - Rio de Janeiro
Day free to do as you please. You can relax at one of Rio's fabulous beaches in the morning and go on an optional tour of Sugar Loaf Mountain in the afternoon. In the evening enjoy Rio's great nightlife. (B) |

Day 4-5 - Amazon Jungle
Two days of activities including jungle treks, piranha fishing and a visit to an Indian dwelling. In the evenings relax and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the jungle. (B,L,D) |

Day 9 - Rio / USA
The whole day is free, with ample time for a swim and to do some last minute shopping. Early evening departure for your return flight to USA. (B) |
