El Escorial - Monastery, church and palace, built in a grandiose structure, connected by corridors and courtyards. The basilica's towering dome, the 43 alters and the Patio de los Reyes are among the most impressive features.
Segovia - Awarded a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list, the city is one of the most beautiful in Spain. Among its many historic treasures are the Alcazar, the Roman Aqueduct, the Cathedral, the Hercules Tower and a collection of Romanesque churches.
Toledo - Perched on a hill, skirted by the River Tagus, Toledo is one of Spain's most impressive historic cities and was granted 'Heritage of Mankind' status by UNESCO. The main sights include the church of St. Thomas, the Cathedral San Juan de los Reyes and the Jewish Quarter.
Valle de Los Caidos - Valley of the Fallen has a spectacular monument to the dead of the civil war, in a beautiful setting. The Basilica's 860 ft nave, is among the largest in Europe. The cross is 410 ft high and there is a good view from the base.
Aranjuez - Royal town with the 18th century Royal Palace, the Museum of Royal Robes, the Prince's Garden and the Sailor's House, containing sailing vessels of six sovereigns.
Avila - The best preserved walled city in the world. Work on the ninety walls and towers began in the 11th century. The Monastery of St. Thomas and the Cathedral, are the most important sights.

    Day 5 - Madrid
This morning you can go on an optional Toledo, where you will visit the church of St. Thomas, the cathedral San Juan de los Reyes and the Jewish quarter.
             
  Day 2 - Madrid
Early morning arrival. Transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free to relax and explore the surroundings.
    Day 6 - Madrid
Today, you can go on an optional full day tour of the walled town of Avila, the historic town of Segovia, with its famous Alcazar and La Granja, the summer palace of Spain's royal family.
             
  Day 3 - Madrid
This morning an optional 'Artistic' tour of Madrid is recommended. You will see the city's focal points, including Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Carrera de San Jeronimo, the Prado Museum and the Royal Palace. Afternoon at leisure.
    Day 7 - Madrid
Day at leisure in Madrid. You can go shopping in fine boutiques, stroll through the old quarter and join in the fun at the esplanades and 'tapas' bars.
             
  Day 4 - Madrid
Day free to do as you please. You can go on one of the many optional tours available or stroll through the city's old quarter to absorb the atmosphere.
