The two largest cities in Spain have distinct personalities and are among the most exciting and culturally rich in Europe.
Madrid's attractions include the Royal Palace, the Prado Museum and the old quarter. Nearby there are the historic towns of Toledo and Segovia.
In Barcelona you can visit the Picasso Museum, stroll through the Gothic quarter and admire some of Gaudi's architectural works, including La Sagrada Familia. The Montserrat Monastery is well worth a visit and the Costa Brava has picturesque fishing villages and great views of the Mediterranean. Madrid and Barcelona are also famous for their round-the-clock nightlife. |
