The island of Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands archipelago and has a variety of landscapes. The imposing El Teide Volcano mountain is the backdrop for the lush sub-tropical valleys, where Puerto de la Cruz and the historic village of La Orotava are situated.
The south, where the best beaches are located, has a desert terrain and lively beach resorts, as well as great sporting facilities. Playa de las Americas is the most lively town, but the adjacent resort areas also have plenty of entertainment.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the Island’s capital, is a port city with charming plazas, with great shopping facilities and nightlife, including an impressive Casino. |
